After studying architecture at
Tulane University, Peter Briant received a degree in fine arts from the
University of Southern Mississippi. Although many of his paintings
focus on architecture, his work features a wide and varied range of subject
matter.
Briant has exhibited in New York City's prestigious Salmagundi Club, the New Orleans Museum of Art and the Adirondacks National Museum of American Watercolors. Some of his work has appeared in Southern Living, Better Homes and Gardens, New York Magazine, Art Business News, and Horizon Magazine. He was chosen to design the official 1988 Republican National Convention Fine Arts Poster and has designed others sponsored by American Express, The American Cancer Society, a memorial Sloane Kettering Cancer Center Benefit at Carnegie Hall, Arnold Palmer/Orlando Hospital, WYES Public Television, the late New York Yankees' manager Billy Martin and the United States Marine Corps Medal of Honor Recipients. |
